Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime series and prequel spin-off of Cyberpunk 2077 produced by Studio Trigger under the supervision of CD Projekt RED. It premiered on Netflix on September 13, 2022.
Edgerunners tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid — David — trying to survive in Night City, a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.
David Martinez is the main protagonist of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. He became a mercenary and a member of Maine's crew, and was later involved in a series of harrowing events that resulted in his death and attaining the status of a Night City legend.
