Uryu Ishida is a recurring supportive character in the anime series, Bleach. Ishida comes from a long linage of Quincy, a clan of beings who have the ability to detect Hollows and other souls, who can create weapons from manipulating the Reishi in the atmosphere.
Bleach (ブリーチ) is a manga series authored by Tite Kubo that appeared in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from August 2001 until August 2016. Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student with the ability to see ghosts. The early parts of the story focus mainly on the Human characters, but as events unfold, the story begins to delve deeper into the world of the Shinigami and their war with the Arrancar, followed by their war with the Quincy.
