Yamamoto Genryusai was a strong recurring character in the anime series, Bleach. Genryusai was the captain of the first division in the Gotei 13 and also served as the Captain-Commander of the entire Gotei 13.

Bleach (ブリーチ) is a manga series authored by Tite Kubo that appeared in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from August 2001 until August 2016. Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student with the ability to see ghosts. The early parts of the story focus mainly on the Human characters, but as events unfold, the story begins to delve deeper into the world of the Shinigami and their war with the Arrancar, followed by their war with the Quincy.
